150 years FA – Maize Maze
To celebrate the FA 150th anniversary a great PR stunt of a giant maze cut out in the figure of the Three Lions badge.
Using a field of maize, farmers went through a painstaking process to cut a maze in the style of the iconic emblem as the FA unveiled the finished article to mark their anniversary at the National Forest Adventure Farm in Burton-Upon-Trent.
The 10-acre and three-mile walkway creation is just three miles from St George’s Park Centre where the national team train before matches.
Around 30,000 people are expected to travel to the maze by the end of the summer which judging by its design looks just as tricky to navigate as the path England are following in their quest to reach the 2014 World Cup.
