Is your next text message worth your last breath?
The Road Safety Commission is making drivers in Western Australia rethink their phone habits with a hard-hitting campaign tackling mobile distraction behind the wheel.
The centrepiece of the campaign, the “Headstone Phone” installation which went on display in shopping centres.
According to the organisation – taking your eyes off the road for just two seconds at 60km/h means you’ve effectively driven blindfolded for 33 metres.
The campaign urges drivers to put their phones away and focus on the road, because no message is worth a life.
