Pizza Hut’s frozen pizza prank

In a clever twist that left supermarket shoppers both baffled and amused, Pizza Hut Middle East made it to the frozen food aisle… or did it? Shoppers picked up what looked like ready to bake Pizza Hut pies found themselves with empty boxes instead of a frozen dinner.

Inside, a note read, “Sorry, we don’t do frozen pizzas. Our dough is freshly made every single day.” The surprise message was a playful reminder of Pizza Hut’s commitment to freshness.

The empty boxes weren’t just a prank, though. Customers who picked up these packages could redeem a voucher inside for a hot, freshly made pizza from a nearby Pizza Hut which were redeemable via the brand’s app.

Claudio Correia, General Manager at Pizza Hut Middle East, explains “The reason behind the stunt wasn’t just about poking fun,” Correia explains. “It was a way of cutting through the noise and debunking a common misconception about the Quick Service Restaurants industry.”
