Shelter and Ikea expose ‘Hidden Homelessness’ with rental reality at Labour Party Conference

Ok here’s an impactful use of a conference stall…
The ‘Real Life Roomset’ (seen at the Labour Party conference) showcases the UK housing crisis, a joint effort by Shelter and IKEA to spotlight the dire conditions of families in temporary homes.
The roomset is modelled on the temporary accommodation of a family that Shelter has helped through its frontline services.
IKEA and Shelter are advocating for 90,000 social homes annually for the next 10 years to tackle the crisis.
Collaborating with Ikea, the housing charity showcased a property replica with bedding on the floor and a mouldy shower to highlight ‘hidden homelessness’ based on lived experiences.
