BrewDog using their distillery to make free ‘Punk Sanitiser’ for those in need

Panic-buying and quarantine shopping during the Covid-19 pandemic has left supermarket shelves empty due to high-demand for supplies. Amongst the toilet roll and tins of beans, people are struggling to get their hands on hygiene and medical products, like face masks and hand sanitisers. For those that do find them, they often come with a hefty price tag, due to price-gouging.
In response, BrewDog has begun manufacturing free ‘Punk Sanitiser’ for those struggling to get it amid the huge increase in demand.
Announcing it on their social media, they stated: ‘We are determined to do everything we can to try and help as many people as possible stay safe. It’s time to keep it clean.’

While it’s not clear how it will be supplied or where it will be donated, James Watt, BrewDog co-founder, tweeted that “it will be given away to those that need it”.
They join the ranks of Louis Vuitton owner LMVH, who switched their perfume production lines over to make sanitiser, as well as other smaller alcohol companies, like Scottish gin distillery Verdant Spirits, Old Fourth Distillery in Atlanta, and Moonrise Distillery in Georgia.
