Pancake portraits as Samsung celebrate ‘Pancake Day’

How do you get people talking about your brand on Pancake Day?

You make ‘Pancake Portraits’ of celebrities and your Twitter followers of course!

In anticipation of yesterday’s gluttonous celebration, Samsung launched a social media competition, encouraging followers to submit photos of themselves for their image to be recreated. As a pancake.

The lucky winners were recreated in pancake form and tweeted out for everyone to see.

But of course it didn’t stop there, Samsung continued to release pictures and videos on the day of famous celebrities who were on TV that night, such as Stuart Broad (England cricketer), Paul Hollywood (Great British Bakeoff) and Jose Mourinho (Chelsea football manager) in their pancake form.

The campaign received hundreds of interactions from consumers with the brand and many celebrity endorsements, showing just how pancakey goodness can turn into social media genius.
