Team Brazil coach surprise customers at Vivo store

Vivo is one of the major cellphone carrier companies in Brazil and also a main local sponsor for the FIFA World Cup. They have been run several campaigns and stunts to make the company more organically associated with this huge international sporting event that is about to start this week.

One of the most fun was this recent stunt that had unaware customers interacting with Team Brasil’s coach, Luiz Felipe Scolari. Recorded back in April at a Vivo store located in a mall in the city of Sao Paulo, employees would conduct the business with  customers normally, but try to start a conversation about how the national team has been performing, once engaged, the employee would leave and bring in the “special clerk”, and also play up that in Portuguese the word used for “coach” or “technician” is the same one.

It was an unique opportunity that allowed people to interact with the coach and share their idea for the team with him. This stunt was created by Africa Agency, and marked under the common hashtag #tamoconectado (meaning we’re connected), used throughout Vivo’s multiple platforms to promote the World Cup.
