Labour work hard to hijack Facebook birthday

By on Wednesday, February 12, 2014

Facebook celebrated its tenth birthday recently and offered its many users the chance to take a look back at the time they’d spent (should that read “wasted”?) on the social networking site. A cute little video featuring your best posts and photos, all set to a little bit of barely-inspiring music for you to share with your friends.

So far so average. It made some news, but some bright spark in the Labour Party’s spin office saw an opportunity and seized it.

At the time of writing the video has been seen nearly 14,000 times – a lot more than my Facebook movie. It’s a great spoof that has instant sharability and, for me, is a great opportunity well taken by Labour’s spin doctors.
