Enchanting panda invasion in Berlin for WWF

By on Tuesday, August 6, 2013

The German branch of the World Wildlife Foundation masterminded this stunt as they installed 1,600 styrofoam replica pandas to celebrate their 50th anniversary and to raise public awareness of the endangered animal’s fragile situation.

WWF research has shown that there are only 1,600 panda’s left in the wild, and this was a great visual representation to not only show the startlingly low numbers left, but also the public’s emotional bond to the animal and their love for this iconic species.

Visitors stop and stare at the 1,600 styrofoam panda bear sculptures.

The display will be visiting 25 other cities in Germany over the next month to give everyone in the country the chance to get involved and show some love for this incredible animal.
