Domino’s testing ‘DomiCoptor’ – the world’s first remote-control pizza delivery helicopter

By on Tuesday, June 4, 2013

It’s a couple of months too late for April Fool’s efforts, but that hasn’t stopped Domino’s from ‘introducing’ its DomiCoptor, a remote-controlled helicopter they’re testing to deliver pizza.

It is able to climb up hundreds of metres to avoid traffic, carrying pizzas in its Heatwave bag in a special cradle.

Domino’s says it might launch a flight academy for the DomiCopters should the delivery service take off – though it’s not immediately clear if the stunt will, as is unlikely, actually be much more than just a fun concept.

Simon Wallis, sales and marketing director at Domino’s said,

“What better way to totally avoid the traffic than to fly – if anything this will now make us even quicker! We think it’s a great way to reinforce that Domino’s go to more lengths than anyone to deliver great pizza.”
