McDonald’s goes posh with waiter service and china plates

By on Thursday, February 14, 2013

It’s an oldie….but a goodie. And will surely see a huge take-up today by those financially less-buoyant Valentines….

A McDonald’s franchise in Warilla, 100km South of Sydney, Australia, has become the first in the world to offer full table service for its dine-in customers – including china plates, glassware and metal cutlery. The offer is open to dine-in customers who order a premium meal between 5pm-8pm each day.

This is not the first time that the Dwartes, who have owned the franchise for 20 years, have pioneered innovations for the fast food chain. Last year, they caught the attention of McDonald’s head office in Chicago after creating an iPhone app that allows customers to place an order and pay in advance before they arrive in store.

Simple and effective – and picking up coverage globally.
