DoingSomething takes speed dating to new heights in London.

By on Thursday, February 28, 2013

A great stunt took place tonight (Thursday 28th Feb) at the London Eye, whereby 250 single men, and 250 single women were randomly shoved into a themed capsules for a speed dating experience like no other.

The themes ranged from ping pong and silent disco to karaoke and cabaret.

Women’s tickets sold out early, with mens available until today still – priced at £29. After, you got to know your new friends better at the after-party which was included in the admission price, and you even got a one month subscription to DoingSomething.co.uk – which you would hopefully use to do something with your new match.

The stunt was supported by the hashtag #WheelOfDate with many people using it as a great opportunity to check out who will be going, and what to expect as the date approached. People have been using it all night to post pictures and tweets about people in the capsule, and @FancyDoingSomething? has been replying and engaging with everyone.

Here’s a video of the stunt:

This is apparently the first of many different ideas to come, and the stunt was created by Frank PR.
