Artist hides £8000 in Milton Keynes art gallery ‘stunt’

Presumably part of a bid to boost the town’s appeal as a cultural hotspot, an artist has left a blank cheque for £8000 in Milton Keynes Art Gallery.

Tomas Georgeson hid the incomplete cheque in the Milton Keynes Gallery to help promote the town as a “cultural destination” but has urged cash hunters to be careful.

Gallery director Anthony Spira, said staff “knew nothing about it” but would “scour” the building looking for it. I’m not sure I believe him but it’s a great bit of PR for the gallery. Don’t all rush at once.

Spotted it on the BBC, Huffington Post, Independent, Telegraph. The list goes on.
