Aldi launches a Christmas Pudding Exchange Service

Christmas is a time for tradition and indulgence, but it seems Gen Z is taking a fresh look at festive cuisine…

Aldi’s recent study has sparked a shift in festive dining, revealing that 78% of Gen Z are ready to move away from classic Christmas dishes like mince pies, Christmas pudding, and cranberry sauce. Instead, they are showing a growing interest in incorporating plant-based roasts and global-inspired dishes at their Christmas tables.

The study also uncovered that over half of Millennials and Gen Z are in favour of giving traditional holiday meals a modern update. These younger generations see items like Brussels sprouts and Christmas pudding as “dated,” with 56% of respondents sharing this view.

Following the results, Aldi has announced a Christmas Pudding Exchange Service for those tired of dried fruit sponge on the big day.

Running until 28th December, shoppers can return any Christmas pudding, no matter where it was bought from, by dropping it off at a Community Donation Point in store and emailing photographic evidence to [email protected]. In return, they’ll receive a £10 voucher to purchase a new dessert from Aldi’s extensive range.
