BrewDog are giving away a Million free pints

The craft beer revolution has gone mainstream.

BrewDog is giving away A MILLION free pints of its Punk IPA.

The maverick Scottish brewery has launched what it claims will be the world’s biggest ever beer sampling campaign, ‘pouring enough free pints to fill more than 7,000 bathtubs over the next four weeks’.

The campaign is supported by an ‘anti-advertising’ billboard campaign driving customers to a landing page.

Billboards slogans shout ‘Don’t buy the advertising. Make up your own mind.’

In a statement on their website the founders say ‘Our mission  is to make other people as passionate about great craft beer as we are and the best way in which we can do that is letting that passion speak for itself. We’d rather you tried our beer than listen to us talk about our beer. And we’re sure you agree. We are putting our money where our mouth is.”

BrewDog operates some 50 bars in the UK and overseas, and recently confirmed plans to build a new brewery in China as the firm continues its decade-long transformation from irreverent Aberdeenshire microbrewery to global drinks giant.

It will be the brewery’s latest global expansion project, following its move to Ohio in the US and its latest successful round of crowdfunding which raised more than £12 million from over 27,000 members of the public for future business projects.

Brewdog recently won a court case against the Elvis Presley estate over a dispute over the name of their Elvis Juice beer, with the brand giving away free beer to people who dressed up as Elvis in celebration.

Drinkers need to enter their details on BrewDog’s website in return for a beer token.

Whatever you think of the stunt – it’s certainly one way to capture hundreds of thousands of email addresses.
