Xbox and Uber offer Australians free supercar travel in Forza PR partnership

In a very nice PR partnership from Friday the 3rd to Sunday the 5th October, taxi booking app Uber and Xbox Australia offered the residents of Sydney free travel in top sports cars – all to promote the launch of racing game Forza Horizon 2.

The three day app takeover saw cars featured in the game – including a Lamborghini Aventador, Ferrari 458 Italia and Nissan GT-R – take to the streets, with members of the public able to request the cars via the Uber app. With the NRL Grand Final played on Sunday, fans were also encouraged to book the app to arrive in style – cleverly widening the media coverage opps.

Uber app users simply had to enter the promo code ‘UBERFORZA’ to (in time-honoured cheat code fashion) unlock the custom vehicles and request a free ride on-demand. The supercars took passengers wherever they wanted to go within Sydney’s central business district, Eastern Suburbs and Inner West at no charge.
