David Moyes statue erected outside Anfield ‘for services to Liverpool Football Club’

Paddy Power has erected a statue of David Moyes outside Anfield today, with the plinth reading “for services to Liverpool football club”.
The tongue in cheek monument is in reference to Manchester United’s poor season under Moyes’ management, along with Liverpool’s likely title win following the match against Chelsea today.
This sort of stunt has Paddy Power’s bread and butter this year, with similar stunts including mocking up a model of Sir Alex Ferguson in an emergency glass box as well as sending a Grim Reaper to Goodison Park last weekend.
Mail Online and the Daily Mirror online have covered this story, among others, proving that the betting firm’s concept of mocking topical sporting figures is a winning formula.
