BBC news readers present dressed as Star Wars characters

BBC presenters  gave viewers more than they bargained for when they delivered their report about a local Star Wars casting dressed as characters from the series.

Alex Lovell and David Garmston – aka a Stormtrooper and Boba Fett – are part of the  BBC Points West team, which covers the west of the UK and is known for its light-hearted approach.

The first auditions for Disney Star Wars: Episode VII are to be held in Bristol.

A picture of the team was posted on BBC Points West Facebook page with the caption ‘Tonight on Points West, Alex and David moved over to the Dark Side and here’s the evidence…’

Nice easy way to engage viewers and make the news  – Metro and Yahoo! Movies have already picked it up.
