Owner of cake business hits headlines with resignation letter iced on a sponge

Airport worker Chris Holmes has seen his business Mr Cake hit the headlines after he iced his resignation letter on a sponge.

In the greatest possible demonstration of his skills, Mr Holmes has found a great way to stand out in the overcrowded homemade cakes business.

The image has made waves on Twitter, as well as being featured in the Guardian, the Mail Online, the Mirror, the Times, the Independent, BBC News, Metro US, Yahoo! and Fox News among others.

Mr Holmes stated that he decided to quit his job checking passports at Stansted in order to spend more time with his family and focus on the business, so all this delicious coverage is presumably just the icing on the cake! (had to)
