You get my point. Valentine’s Day presents often scream cliché. Not so with the lovely folk over at online marketplace notonthehighstreet.com, who are putting a social twist on the classic Valentine.

Loved up social types can tweet @notonthehighst including #tweetheart (or comment on the notonthehighstreet Facebook page) to nominate their beloved for a Valentine’s surprise. notonthehighstreet.com will choose five romantic tales and come up with a tailor-made performance to surprise the #tweethearts – it could be a specially written song performed by a busker, a choir turning up to their office or an arty surprise.

Notonthehighstreet.com will record the surprise so the #tweethearts have a special memento.
