Eleven Madison Park and Alinea to Switch Places

By on Thursday, August 30, 2012

Renowned restaurants, Eleven Madison Park and Alinea are set to switch places for five days in a PR stunt that will see Daniel Humm cooking Eleven Madison Park’s food at Alinea in Chicago and Grant Achatz cooking Alinea’s food at Eleven Madison Park in New York.

Tickets for the collaboration, dubbed ’21st Century Limited’ – a direct reference to the passenger train that formerly ran between New York and Chicago – will be available at a cool $495 (plus tax & 20% service charge), and can only be purchased through the dedicated Facebook page.

A YouTube video was posted last Friday – the first hint at a collaboration, with the restaurants subsequently confirming the venture in typically coy style:

“We’ve spent the last two years thinking how we can collaborate with them. We respect them so much. We’re so happy we’ve finally found a way,” said Humm.

Alinea was ranked 7th and Eleven Madison Park at 10th in the recently announced San Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurant List, and both establishments hold three Michelin stars.
