Giant Space Invaders installation takes over Manchester Town Hall

As part of the ‘Make With A Red Stripe’ series, British street artist Filthy Luker was commissioned by Jamaican lager company Red Stripe to create an installation at Manchester’s Town Hall.

Using plastic road barriers and road work equipment, Mr Luker (Filthy to his friends) built a huge recreation of 80s classic Space Invaders – coming to life at night with LED lights which animate when a nearby button is pressed to look like the ‘invaders’ are being shot.

The installation is still up, according to the Red Stripe website – so pop down and have a look if you’re out and about.
