In these time of austerity why do we have to confrom to buying flowers, chocolates and expensive cards as an expression of our love? TH Clements, a grower, in Boston, Lincs. has produced these look like roses or chrysanthemums. But they are cabbages.
The 89p cabbages are available in vivid purple or soft pastels and totally edible.
Buy one today and eat it tomorrow. Now that is good PR – totally useful and colourful.
