Viral V&A headhunt for a Taylor Swift ‘Superfan Advisor’

By on Monday, February 26, 2024

Just like many of us, the V&A is trying to understand what goes on in the brains of Swifties.

Attempting to connect and stay relevant with Gen Z, the V&A is actively recruiting a ‘Taylor Swift superfan adviser’ to contribute insights into Swiftie cult-fandom, handmade signs, friendship bracelets and memorabilia.

The museum is also seeking enthusiasts to fill eight other advisory positions covering Crocs, drag, emojis, tufting, Lego, Pokemon cards, “gorpcore” and Toby jugs.

These unique, zero-hour contract positions were created in collaboration with Hope and Glory PR as part of their campaign to engage a younger demographic and show that “if you’re into it, it’s in the V&A”. The announcement, true to the nature of all things Taylor Swift, has quickly become viral worldwide.

The unconventional recruitment aims to celebrate the diverse creative offerings at the V&A and make the institution more relevant to contemporary audiences. Successful candidates will receive a free V&A membership and will share their grassroots expertise in specific cultural niches to help the museum curate collections dedicated to the art and design associated with cultural phenomena.
