Love Actually’s script is rewritten to show that love still, is all around

The poignant opening monologue to the Christmas Box-office hit ‘Love Actually’ has been rewritten and recreated nearly two decades after the films release, to show that despite the challenges we all have faced over the pandemic, love really is all around.

The one-minute monologue narrated by Martine McCutcheon, reflects the current challenges we have all faced due to the pandemic and the joys of being able to reunite with loved ones again as travel restrictions have loosened.

Reshot at Heathrow Terminal 3 (the same location as the film), the footage features real-life passengers entering the Arrivals area, tearily reuniting with loved ones after months apart from each other.

Research commissioned by Heathrow earlier this year found that 62 per cent of people have not seen a loved one in over a year, with 40 per cent of the UK having loved ones who live abroad.

The festive film launches as Heathrow expects to face a busy Christmas despite demand being suppressed by the ongoing impact of COVID-19.
