Morrisons is the latest supermarket chain to release their Christmas advert, which features a touching tribute to ‘Farmer Christmas’ – a figure representing the hard work of the heroes that make Christmas happen.

Morrisons has released its Christmas advert, which pays tribute to Farmer Christmas, the other character who works all year round to make Christmas special.

Morrisons’ 60 second Christmas advert follows two curious children learning about the magic of Farmer Christmas – a figure representing the labourers, farmers, and workers that put in the work to make Christmas happen behind the scenes.

The advert sees the children taken around field, farm, and factory to learn about where their Christmas dinner comes from, and the lengthy process that goes into making it.

Morrisons chief customer & marketing officer Rachel Eyre said:

“Told through the eyes of children, our advert reveals the ‘secret’ of the other star of Christmas – not Father Christmas but Farmer Christmas,”

“It aims to celebrate and showcase all the hard work, skill and dedication that goes on behind the scenes to grow and make the food for Christmas throughout the year. From all the British farmers and growers we work with directly, to our 105,000 colleagues who are delivering, stocking, making and preparing fresh festive food, to bring our customers a Christmas feast for their table”.

Since the start of the pandemic, the supermarket has offered a 5% discount to farmers. Morrisons also remains committed to selling nothing but 100% British meat and using only British flour in its bakeries.
