Pepsi launch clever campaign to win over Burger King and McDonald’s

For over 30 years, the three biggest burger chains in the U.S (Burger King, McDonalds and Wendy’s) have poured Coca Cola at their restaurants – snubbing Pepsi.

Ahead of National Hamburger Day and start of the BBQ season — Pepsi hopes to change the conversation with restaurants and customers  with this smart and witty ad campaign.

Out-of-home ads reveal ‘hidden’ Pepsi logos in fast-food iconography – created with the help of an origami artist.

On Friday, consumers are being asked to post a picture of their preferred burger from any restaurant with a Pepsi and the hashtag #BetterwithPepsi to social media for the chance to receive a refund for their drink.

“We’re going to put a stake in the ground and prove that all burgers go better with Pepsi and give everyone the chance to try Pepsi with their favorite burger,” said Todd Kaplan, vice president of marketing at PepsiCo.
