Ikea challenge public to find their products in a museum of antiques
By James Herring on Tuesday, June 11, 2019
Items of Ikea furniture were hidden amongst the 18th Century exhibits in the Museum of Romanticism in Madrid.
Visitors were challenged to find the “hidden” pieces of Ikea among the antiques.
The Museum of Romanticism recreates the daily life and customs of the bourgeoisie during the nineteenth century – it houses more than 17,000 finds, among which are paintings, furniture, photography and decorative arts.
The experiment set out to prove to ‘Ikea Haters’ that their contemporary furniture would blend in.
The hunt was also played out on Facebook and Instagram.
