Southampton FC promote new kit with Fyre Festival mockumentary

Southampton Football Club have released a parody of Netflix documentary ‘Fyre’ to show off their new 2019-20 strips.

‘Saynts: The Greatest Kit Launch That Never Happened’  follows entrepreneur Mbilly McFarmer, who’s on a mission to host the first ever football kit launch on a desert island… because it’s never been done before.

Saints stars including Danny Ings, Nathan Redmond and Angus Gunn can be seen modelling the new Southampton FC home, away, third and goalkeeper kits as part of the glamorous trailer for the pipedream Saynts Festival, showing off their football skills in an exotic Southampton location.

Charlie Read, Head of Brand and Marketing at Southampton FC, said: “The launch of a new kit is always a highlight moment of the year for fans and players alike. This year’s home kit features the iconic red and white stripes that Southampton FC are known for. While Mbilly wasn’t able to sell in his ludicrous Saynts Festival pipedream, the club still wanted to create something unique to celebrate the launch of the new kits and give something back to our fans, which is why we will be hosting our own fan event at St Mary’s on Saturday 29th June.”
