Cinnamon Toast Crunch create the world’s first selfie spoon

General Mills cereal brand Cinnamon Toast Crunch has produced the world’s first selfie spoon. It is exactly what it sounds like; a selfie stick with a spoon on the end.

Created by McCann, the stunt is part of the brand’s ‘Cinnamilk’ campaign, and casually pokes fun at the youth’s obsession with social media. This new contraption aims to encourage cereal fans to post a selfie whilst they eat their bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, so they don’t have to choose between whether they eat or post.

I was unaware of this dilemma, but it seems people are buying into it. Half of the 1000 selfie spoons available have already been ordered, they are free but customers have to pay for postage and packaging and order within the campaign’s period of 10 days.

The accompanying advert adds a bit of humour and explains why you need to use a selfie spoon (highly important). This campaign successfully targets the cereal’s audience, social media and selfie obsessed teens, who love their Cinnamon Toast Crunch so much they want to share it with the world.
