Fabulous at 40 for gorilla at @zsllondonzoo

To celebrate Zaire the gorilla’s 40th birthday, London Zoo commissioned Great British Bake Off runner up Richard Burr to make her a cake.
The pink cake (Zaire’s favourite colour) included sugar-free jelly, apples, carrots and walnuts, which Zaire wolfed down.
I thought this was a nice bit of personal PR for Richard now the GBBO hype has died down as well as an educational story for London Zoo.
I, for example didn’t know Gorillas lived to 40 in captivity or much about gorilla’s eating habits which include sugar-free jelly and strawberries.
Happy 40th Zaire!
