Chemists produce a perfume that smells like rotting corpses in Walking Dead PR stunt

It’s the season finale of zombie drama ‘The Walking Dead’ soon, so the American Chemical Society has taken the newsworthy opportunity to examine the chemistry necessary to create a perfume that quite literally smells like death – and dubbed it ‘Eau de Death’. The video below tells all:
When we die, our body apparently releases aptly-named chemicals known as putresine and cadaverine. In one scene of the show, the survivors rub zombie guts on themselves to go undetected – zombies won’t go after their own, obviously. So, when these chemicals are combined with methanethiol, the American Chemical Society has stated this cologne could, in the event of a zombie apocalypse, ‘save your life’.
