Good PR can turn crap to gold

Don’t believe me? Check out Poo-Pourri, a product which promises to remove that last, lingering bit of evidence that you are (or at least, until recently, were) full of crap. The product itself seems to work, judging from the many, many testimonials on their Amazon page, but the genius is not in the science.
It’s in this video, already picked up by the Huffington Post and Buzzfeed.
The spokesperson is perfect. The cut-glass accent is at such bizarre odds with the subject matter, and the frequent cuts to situations we all know (one day my colleagues will forgive me) create a compelling narrative. Simple images and narrations and more synonyms for faecal matter than I ever thought possible round out this charming ad. A “taboo” subject, an amusing presentation and a product that we all secretly want mean this has been shared on my network several times already.
