Burberry kisses powered by Google
By Andrew Barratt on Wednesday, June 12, 2013
Burberry have launched Burberry Kisses in partnership with Google.
This newly-launched cute idea is a way to spread some love across the globe in a more personalized way. People get to send their own kiss imprint to a loved one – say goodbye to generic images of a kiss emoticon!
All you have to do is visit Burberry Kisses and using a webcam and “unique kiss-detection technology” the outline of your lips gets imprinted. Then write a short message and send it on via email or Google+. The envelope containing your message and kiss then flies across to the receiver’s destination across a 3D landscape. You can then share this publically across other social media platforms such as on Google+, Facebook or Twitter.
A lovely idea which will no doubt be a social media and marketing strategy to drive sales across their very profitable and fast growing Beauty and Fragrance part of the business and brand. The launch of Burberry Body at the end of 2011 has been hugely successfully, which was followed by the launch of Burberry make-up, mascara and of course lipstick. Burberry Kisses.
