From meat to you… La Tasca's 'Meat Bouquet'
By lauracoyne on Monday, February 18, 2013
For men, getting a Valentine’s Day gift is a piece of frittata; flowers, chocolates, even some saucy underwear. However, for women it can be much trickier! Fortunately, La Tasca had it covered, designing the perfect Valentine’s gift for men up and down the country: the meat bouquet.
In a tasty PR campaign by Manifest Communications, meat-loving men (and women) had the opportunity to scoop one of only 50 meat bouquets, made with authentic Spanish and edible flowers, all sourced direct from Spanish suppliers. The bouquet showcased La Tasca’s produce in a way we thought was fun, and would grab the attention of the media and La Tasca fans.
Ahead of Valentine’s Day, the bouquet was featured by more! magazine, The Sabotage Times, STV, Capital Yorkshire and a number of food-loving blogs, but on Febuary 14th the La Tasca team took to the streets of London, delivering bouquets (handmade by the Manifest team and chefs at La Tasca) to TV, radio, newspapers, magazines and websites – this resulted in a flurry of mentions on social media, as well as mention by Nick Grimshaw on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show and Matthew Wright on The Wright Stuff. Journalists who received the bouquets were encouraged to take a picture of
themselves and @LaTasca on Twitter – tweets came flooding in from Nuts, Zoo, Company Magazine, AskMen and 3am, along with journalists from The Sun, The Mirror and Rhianna Dhillon from Radio 1.
With more than 250 mentions of the ‘meat bouquet’ on Twitter, posts on Facebook, TV, radio and print coverage, the simple and low budget campaign really made waves this Valentine’s Day.
