Ted Baker creates engaging online treasure hunt for Instagram followers

As a British luxury clothes designer/retailer it’s important to keep up with the latest trends. Instagram, with an estimated 300 million active users in August 2015, is one of the many social media tools that can be utilised by brands, and Ted Baker has done so brilliantly.

In keeping with their brand image of being quintessentially British, ‘Ted’ traveled the world (Indiana Jones style) and brought back trinkets to create ‘Ted’s Cabinet of Curiosities’. On the 1st September the clothing brand then launched an Instagram treasure hunt, where followers of Ted Baker’s account can win an undisclosed Ted Baker gift, by guessing the right object in the cabinet following a corresponding clue, for the next two weeks.

The clue is posted on the official Ted Baker Instagram account, users then have to go to Ted’s cabinet page to post the correct answer in the comments section, tag a friend or regram using #Wonders to win. The aim is to increase brand awareness and their social media following organically through original content, and by jove they’ve done it! I’m going to follow right now.
