“Picture your holiday” with British Airways’ new digital platform

A picture paints a thousand words, a wise man once said – and this notion was never more true than when choosing your holiday destination.
With the whole globe at your doorstep, imagery is a fool-proof means by which to narrow your search. Is it an endless Caribbean beach you want? A continental city brimming with culture? Or a far Eastern country to take you on an adventure? If you’re feeling indecisive, there’s an easy way to find out.
British Airways have launched their digital platform: “Picture Your Holiday” – presenting you with a collection of stunning photographs from around the world, so you can create your own visual wishlist. Then, informed by this wishlist, BA displays that best destinations for you – with the added offer of sharing your results across the usual social channels.
It’s a fantastic concept that taps into a generation fascinated with online imagery (users of Instagram and Pinterest in particular), whilst also speeding up the decision making process in an interactive fashion. Combine that with the direct link back to BAs point of sale – and this projects a winner.
