Smurfs invade the streets of Rome!

The team behind The Smurfs 2, which premieres in Rome this month, found a sure-fire way to let the world know the blue critters are back, as over 4,000 of them were scattered across the city in a fantastic photo stunt.
As well as marking Global Smurf Day (who knew that existed?), the awesome shots were used to publicise the upcoming film, out in Italy on September 26th.
Tiny models were seen artistically placed in some of Rome’s most iconic locations, with the famous blue of the Smurf army providing a hilariously bright contrast to the antique, muted tones of the city’s sights.
This is one of those PR stories where a picture paints a thousand words: the images alone are priceless and enough to capture the public’s imagination.
I don’t think a single person in Rome would fail to realise the second installment of the movie will soon be hitting their streets!
