Disney unveils heart-warming Holiday Short with a tale of friendship

Disney has released their 2024 Holiday Short, directed by award-winning Taika Waititi, a magical story named ‘The Boy and The Octopus’.
The enchanting short homes in on the magic of wonder and friendship, following the journey of a young boy who meets a curious octopus, eager to see the world. The little boy does his best to show the Octopus all the magical festivities the world has to offer, with an emphasis of friendship and joy at this time of year. The uplifting short is accompanied by an instrumental version of the iconic Little Mermaid melody ‘Part of Your World’.
“The story manages to connect the feelings that you get around the holidays, and the joy, the goodwill and everything, with those same emotions and those same sensibilities you get from Disney films,” said Taika Waititi. “I think they go hand in hand and it’s the perfect match – and only Disney could have made something like this…with me.”
This festive season, Disney are once again supporting their charity partner, Make-A-Wish International, to provide a life-changing experience and make wishes come true for children and their families who need it most.
